Students of all ages need electronics when going back to school, whether at home or in the classroom. Here are some of the essentials many students need including electronics deals! This post also includes some non-electronic items that go hand-in-hand with electronics.

Dual Wireless Bluetooth or USB Mouse
Is it really a mouse anymore when it doesn’t have a tail? Think about that… lol All joking aside, having a great wireless mouse is essential, even if you have a laptop with a mouse built in. I really love using my wireless mouse whenever I can instead of using the trackpad on my laptop.
There are so many options out there and considering how quickly they run through battery, I prefer a wireless mouse that has both USB and Bluetooth ability as well as one that is able to be plugged in and recharged instead of going through a bunch of AA batteries.
Wireless Rechargeable Keyboard
Not everyone needs a wireless keyboard for a laptop but sometimes it can be really nice. My husband uses one all day at work because he likes the way it types better than the one on his laptop. I’d use one too if I worked at a desk more often and had more space on my desk (darn my Cricut! lol)
It’s nice to have the option at least so I do have one that I use from time to time.
Another cool thing about a wireless keyboard is you can use it with your iPad or iPhone if you’d like as well as with your laptop. This one even has different ‘channels’ so you can easily switch between devices!! (Ok, mine doesn’t have that, now I’m jealous…lol)
I love the low profile design of this because you can easily put it in your backpack and take it on the go if needed.
Generic iPad Pencil
If you are more of an iPad person or if your school is, you may want to get a Stylus/Pencil to draw or write on your iPad. I honestly did not want to spend a lot of money to get the Apple brand pencil so got this one a couple of years ago for my iPad and I love it! It works well and is easy to use and charge. The charge lasts a long time as well. I have one and my 1st grader has one.
iPad Case with Keyboard
I had wanted an iPad for several years but it wasn’t until my birthday in 2020 that I put it on my birthday wishlist and my dad surprised me by getting me one!! Woot!! Besides the pencil above, I also quickly accessorized my iPad with this case and keyboard.
I got the rose gold color and absolutely love it but it also comes in a variety of colors including brown, black, and green. The keyboard is detachable and held in place by magnets for a secure surface. It doesn’t come with the iPad pencil as shown in the picture but will fit the one above perfectly!
iPad
If you don’t already have an iPad I highly suggest one. I love mine, I use it more than I ever thought I would. From taking notes with my pencil shown above, drawing with it to relax, playing games on it, checking email, checking Facebook, reading books, everything! I love it!!
There are different screen sizes, memory sizes, and colors to choose from. I have just the WiFi one as it’s cheaper and I don’t need to use data when I use it outside of the home. I think I could actually use the WiFi/Data from my phone if I wanted to but haven’t tried it out.
Originally we had Kindle Fire tablets for our kids but honestly, they are so slow and clunky, we switched them all over to iPads and we’re ALL a lot happier!
Durable iPad Case
If your child has an iPad you’re going to want this case. I can attest that it is throw proof, drop proof and more I’m sure. My kids drop their iPads all the time, even on the concrete ground out front, and this case protects their iPads so much more than I thought they would! It’s awesome!
This iPad case comes in many colors and has a durable built in stand which is super helpful.
This one currently isn’t on sale but I highly, highly recommend it if you’re giving a kid an iPad. It’s extremely durable.

Home Office Lap Desk
Though this isn’t technically electronics, it helps with electronics so that counts, right?! If you like to work anywhere BUT a desk or table, this is for you! I love using this in bed or on the couch. It’s so great to still be able to use my mouse and not having it slip around with the built in mousepad. Yes, I said mousepad. I thought that I was sooooo beyond mousepads until I was using a different lap desk that didn’t have a mousepad and it was so frustrating that the mouse kept sliding off whenever I moved. My cat was frustrated too since the mouse kept falling on her. Whoops!
This lap desk also features a wrist rest to be more ergonomic AND to keep your mouse from slipping off if you move around a lot.
This is so great to have to keep my laptop from overheating, keep my mouse in place, and keep my phone at hand. It’s also more comfortable to have this lap desk rather than just having my computer on my lap – especially when wearing shorts! Laptops are cold!

Ok, I realize this isn’t electronic BUT it holds your electronics so I figured it could count here.

I LOVE backpacks and anything organizational. When I saw this I wanted to buy it but then reminded myself I don’t need yet another backpack, I’m fine with the ones I have. Ha! We’ll see how long that lasts…I really like this one…

Larger Power Strip
I have two of these in my office currently and I love them! I was having such a hard time with how short my cord was for my old power strip / surge protector and needed a new one!
